Over the past year I have been managing a project, with support from an NEH/Mellon Humanities Open Book grant, to digitize and make open-access fifty-one older books in the Brown Judaic Studies (BJS) series. I published my first book, Tasting the Dish: Rabbinic Rhetorics of Sexuality with BJS and I am happy to say that it was (okay, not coincidentally) among the titles we digitized. I was not able to completely clean up the typos (there are technical limitations to doing so, as part of the process of digitization) but it is somewhat cleaner.
It can be accessed through JSTOR (in html and pdf, chapter by chapter download, formats) and through the Brown Digital Repository (as a full pdf download and also in EPUB format).
While you are thinking about Brown Judaic Studies, you might want to check out our latest (alas, not open access) titles here!
